A local "hangout" for OTHS students, as well as a place of employment for some of our classmates and friends.
The Asbury Park boardwalk was a "go to" location for fun and employed many teenagers, including members of the Class of 1970.
Convention Hall hosted many of the greatest entertainers and bands of the era as thjs poster clearly displays.
The cool waters and snacks at Kepwel Park were a popular location for swimming and relaxation during hot summer days.
Built in the 1950s and later demolished to make way for the Sears and Roebuck store on Route 66, Storyland Village was a forerunner of entertainment parks for younger children.
The 1950s and 1960s witnessed an explosion of rock bands populated by high school musicians, such as Ocean Township's "The Inspiration." Included in this photo are two OTHS Class of 1970 graduates, Bill Scheumeister (back row on the right) and Joe Devine, front row center.
